Just two weeks before the 2015 staging of Reggae Sumfest, Rapper Rick Rosshas been pulled from the lineup.
In a release sent to Music News, the festival’s organizers say “due tocircumstances beyond the control of organizers of the Greatest Reggae Show on Earth, Reggae Sumfest, rap artiste and music mogul Rick Ross, will not appear as previously billed.”
The release further states that “Rick Ross is unable to travel at this time and his management has said that Ross is saddened that he cannot be in Jamaica to perform for his fans on July 17 but he looks forward to coming back to Jamaica in the near future.”
Rick Ross management extends a heartfelt thank you to all fans for their continued love and support, on behalf of the artiste.
Meanwhile, Summerfest Productions is apologizing to fans, sponsors and other supporters.
Music News understands that the Reggae Sumfest team is currently working assiduously to find a suitable replacement and will make an announcement in the coming days.
Rick Ross had gotten into trouble with the law after he was contracted to work at Reggae Sumfest.
The rapper was released from jail on July 1 after spending 7 days behind bars for kidnapping and aggravated assault.
The 2015 staging of Reggae Sumfest will be held on July 12 – 18 in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
